In the afternoon of June 28, 2019, the graduation ceremony of the training program of environmental science and engineering entrusted by Zimbabwe was held in OUC. The administrative director of the Office of Zimbabwe's President scholarship, Tendayi Maronga, the supervisor of the Department of Information, Daniel Mandizvidza, the chairman of Qingdao Zhongcheng group co. LTD, Qiu Yue, the president of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Professor Jiang Wensheng, attended the ceremony. And the ceremony was presided over by the president of the School of International Education, Professor Qin Shanghai.

The administrative director of the Office of Zimbabwe's President Scholarship, Tendayi Maronga, gave a speech at the beginning. On behalf of the government of Zimbabwe, he expressed their gratitude to OUC for cultivating advanced talents for them over years, and highly affirmed the significance of this training program of environmental science and engineering in aspects of environmental protection and development.

The chairman of Qingdao Zhongcheng group co. LTD, Qiu Yue, expressed his hearty praises and thanks towards OUC for its support and input in this project. After that, the president of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Professor Jiang Wensheng, affirmed the efforts the students paid to complete their studies smoothly, and highly praised the positive effect of this university-enterprise cooperation project.

On behalf of all the students, Alphinos Rugara expressed their sincere thanks to OUC, and to all the teachers and staffs for their efforts and contributions. He also promised that they will make contributions to Zimbabwe's economic development and social stability, as well as the deepening of China-Zimbabwe friendship.

In the ceremony, Professor Qing Shanghai and Professor Jiang Wensheng issued course-completion certificates to the 12 graduates together. Professor Qing wished all the students can put their knowledge into use, spread Chinese culture, and enhance the friendship between China and Zimbabwe after they return to Zimbabwe.

The studying in China entrusted project of Zimbabwe is jointly commissioned by OUC and Qingdao Zhongcheng group co. LTD, and it is supported by the Ministry of Education. Since 2016, 141 students have been sponsored to study in OUC. There are 12 students in the project this year. The training will last for one year, aiming at cultivating professional talents in the field of environmental science and engineering for the government of Zimbabwe.
