Location of OUC

Ocean University of China is located in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province. It nestles against hills and faces the blue sea, with the Yushan campus in the west of the city, the Fushan campus in the middle and the Laoshan campus at the foot of Laoshan Mountain.

Museum of OUC History

The Museum of OUC History located on the first floor, Zone B in the library at the Laoshan campus. Covering an area of 1,000m2, it was officially opened up in October, 2007. As the first history museum of OUC, it is featured with gracefulness and elegance. The museum illustrates the material objects with pictures and captions, witnessing nearly 90 years of OUC’s history. There are about 2,000 photos on exhibition, also some precious historical documents, representing different periods of history.

The museum is divided into five sections, namely, the Introduction, the Historical Development of OUC, the Recent Achievements, the Great Names, and the Bright Perspectives.

The Historical Development of OUC section shows the university’s progress from the Private University of Qingdao, National University of Qingdao, National University of Shandong, Shandong University, Shandong College of Oceanography, Ocean University of Qingdao to Ocean University of China.

The Recent Achievements section are partly presented by the achievements in seven aspects such as team building, education, academic disciplines, scientific research, overseas exchanges, support system and cultural advancement from the period between 1988 and 2007.

The Great Names section introduces 133 eminent figures and revolutionary martyrs in the past 80-plus years. The exhibition highlights the university’s strength in marine science while displaying a rich flavor of culture and history.  

University Hospital

OUC Infirmary is a healthcare center serving the health and wellness of the entire OUC community. It is a legitimate, non-governmental and non-profit community-level hospital, which is also a designated institution for medical insurance in Qingdao.

The infirmary departments boast the department of internal medicine, the surgical department, the department of stomatology, the ophthalmology, the department of traditional Chinese medicine, the department of prevention and health care, the department of radiology, the clinical laboratory, the ultrasound room, the X-ray room, the physiotherapy room, the ECG room, the dressing room, the observation room, and the injection room. Each one of the three campuses boasts one clinic. Each clinic has set up departments of internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, stomatology, Chinese medicine, prevention and health care, radiology, clinical laboratory, ultrasound room, ECG room, TCM dispensary, dispensary for western medicine. The hospital is equipped with a broad range of medical devices, including the automatic biochemistry analyzer, blood cell analyzer, urine analyzer, digital gastrointestinal X-ray machine, color Doppler imaging, advanced X-ray equipment for oral cavity test, Holter monitor, dental unit, dental X-ray machine and Italian sterilizer.

The hospital also boasts a strong and professional team of 46 physicians and nurses. They provide basic treatment for common illnesses and frequent occurring diseases and special treatment services such as traditional Chinese medicine and oral cavity disease as well as public health.
